Beth Schultz has done a sound job of encapsulating some of the key take-aways from last week’s ‘All Analytics Academy’ session I took part in, specifically focusing on some of the key objectives for visualisation design I spoke about.

It was my great pleasure to be invited back on to the outstanding data stories podcast last week, for my third appearance! I joined hosts Enrico and Moritz alongside Andrew Vande Moere and Bryan Connor to discuss our feelings on what was big in 2012 and our hopes and expectations for 2013.

Following my recent visit to Johannesberg and Cape Town, I was interviewed by Gill Moodie for Journalism.co.za website, aimed at the Journalists of South Africa, to discuss ‘creating new kinds of stories with data visualisation’.

A guest article I wrote for the excellent O’Reilly Radar site has just been published. Titled ‘Walking the tightrope of visualization criticism’ this rather long piece reflects on some of the key experiences of my training courses and some general observations about the level and appropriateness of critique that exists in the field.
