Work starts on my book’s 3rd edition

I’m happy to share news that I’m working on the next edition of my book ‘Data Visualisation: A Handbook for Data Driven Design’.

Originally published in 2016, I worked on a second edition that was published by Sage in 2019 and they’ve now invited me to revisit that text with the aim of publishing a third edition around late 2024 or early 2025.

This third edition will aim to refresh many of the included examples to showcase the contemporary practice and diverse field that exists today. I will be refining some of the content to reflect my latest thinking and applying a general fresh coat of paint across the look and feel of the book.

I’ve been so grateful for the positive comments many readers have sent me about both editions of the book down the years. As a small gesture of thanks to those who have bought this text, I am offering a 10% discount on the ticket prices for my upcoming public training courses.

In the new year I have a virtual ‘Fundamentals of Data Visualisation‘ course running over 10-11 January (2-5pm UK time) and an-person classroom ‘Masterclass in Data Visualisation‘ course in London running over two full days 21-22 February.

The discount code is the full title given to the name of the final chart presented in the gallery of chart types, found across the colour-shaded pages in the book’s sixth chapter ‘Data Representation’. The final ‘chart’ type listed is the same in both editions of the book. Removing the space, the code should be 7 characters in length.

To apply this discount, when you get to the training registration checkout, in the ‘Promo code’ box enter the code (not case sensitive) and this will reduce the price by 10% on early bird and full-priced tickets alike depending on availability.

(I’m also happy to extend this offer to offline registrations via invoice, just tell me the code and I’ll knock down the price!)
