Back in September I profiled the Visualized.io conference taking place in London this year. Time has raced by and the event is coming up this Saturday. I have the great fortune of being one of the invited speakers and wanted to give a brief preview of what I will be discussing in this talk.
The talk title is ‘The Design of Time’. Having done ‘The Design of Nothing‘ at OpenVisConf 2014 I’m now moving on to discuss many of the different ways of portraying data over, and about, time. For me, these are often the most compelling of types of visualisation and are the most tangible demonstration of that recurring theme of the past year or so, storytelling.
With only a 20 minute slot I have a LOT to get through! It means I won’t have time or the intent to go into depths of theory. Rather, I will showcase a collection of different visualisation approaches for the benefit of awareness, reference and hopefully a bit of inspiration too.
