Santiago Ortiz, genuinely one of the most creative and interesting freelance designers practicing in the field right now, has published a new interactive project: the ‘Data visualization references network’. This dynamic network design provides a front end for users to explore links to a wide range of data visualisation practitioners (people, companies) and resources (blogs, tools and books).
The relationships between the links are created through the use of common tags based on those used on against the sites on Delicious.com. You can select one of two views: network and comparison. The first is shown above the second is available when a group of nodes are selected, and allows the users to see differences in how people perceive each site.
If you wish to download the data you can do so and it is worth noting that the content will be constantly updated to keep it contemporary and relevant.
Santiago has most recently been active on the development and launch of Quadrigram and you should keep your eye on his site for his next output.
